Our company is owned and operated by Randy Gneiting, GIA Gemologist with the help of his wife Katie. Montana Gem has been in this business since 1978. We pride ourselves on providing high quality gems and jewelry in a broad range of styles, gem types, and colors. Being true Montanans we specialize in our own Montana Yogo Sapphires.

Although Randy loves working at the shop and selling at area gem shows, he's never happier than when he is in the Montana mountains mining the beautiful yogo sapphires. This effort gives Montana Gem the unique ability to take these precious sapphires from the ground through to the finished piece of jewelry. Our larger stones stay right here in Montana to be faceted by Randy himself or by expert faceters here in the state.
